Steal Away
The spiritual as the Fisk Jubilee Singers first printed it, for 2 to 4 singers: the refrain, the first verse and the refrain again. The refrain is sung in close harmony; in the verse the soprano sings the words and the others hum the chords beneath, all joining on "I hain't got long to stay here". Slow and free, with room to hold the long notes.
