Installing the app
Put Stackapella on your home screen or desktop, on Android, a computer or a Mac.

Why install it
- Stackapella runs in your browser, and there's no app store to find it in. You install it from the browser instead.
- Installed, it opens like an app, with no browser bar in the way.
- It also keeps your songs safer: browsers can clear a website's storage, but not an installed app's. Signing in to a free account keeps them safe too.
On Android
- Open Stackapella in Chrome. On the home page, the "Install Stackapella" card has an Install button: tap it, then confirm.
- No card? Open Chrome's menu (the three dots), choose Add to Home screen, then Install.
- Open it from the new icon on your home screen.
On a computer
- In Chrome or Edge, the same card on the home page has an Install button. Choose it, then confirm in the browser's own box.
- Or look for the install icon at the end of the address bar.
- In Safari on a Mac, choose File, then Add to Dock.
- Then open Stackapella from your apps or your Dock, like any other app.
On iPhone and iPad
- Safari has no install button: open Stackapella in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen. The page about the app on iPhone has the details, and why it matters more there.
The install card
- Before you've recorded anything, the card is a plain offer, and "Not now" hides it for good on that device.
- Once you have songs kept only on this device, it says "Your songs are only on this device". "Not now" then hides it for a week.
- It goes away once the app is installed. If you never see it, your browser may not offer installing: try Chrome or Edge.
Updates
- The installed app updates itself. When a new version is ready, we say so: tap Refresh.
